Ibn Uthaymeen accuses Imam Ahmed, Al Bayhaqi, Al Suyuti, and more of distorting the Quran: “Allahs coming”

Inshallah in this post we will be displaying the words of ibn Uthaymeen and how they completely contradict the beliefs and understanding of the great ulema of the Muslims and how they would lead to affirming great scholars like Imam Ahmed, Al Bayhaqi, Ibn Al Jawzi, Baydawi committing tahrif of the Quran

———————————————————–

Surah 89:22 “And your lord has come and the angels rank upon rank”

Indeed Allah the Almighty will come on the Day of Resurrection, in a literal way and He Himself will come, and The people of tahrif (distortion) said it means: And the command of your Lord has come.

So according to Ibn Uthaymeen if someone says Allah’s coming is his command this person is guilty of tahrif!

So let’s see which scholars said this……

———————————————————-

Imam Ahmad: Imam Ibn Kathir narrates it in “كتاب البداية والنهاية” Vol 10 Pg: 327

Al-Bayhaqi narrated on the authority of al-Hakim on the authority of Abi Amr ibn al-Sammak on the authority of Hanbal that Ahmad ibn Hanbal interpreted the words of Allah Almighty:

And your Lord has come” that it means the reward will come. Then Al-Bayhaqi said: This is an undeniable chain.

Imam Ibn Al Jawzi: “دفع شبه التشبيه” Pg:

Al-Qadi Abu Ya’la said on the authority of Ahmad bin Hanbal: In the Almighty’s saying: (He will come to them), he said what is meant by it: Is his power and His command.

These narrations are also Supported by:

Imam Ibn Al Jawzi: “ زاد المسير في علم التفسير” Vol 1, Pg: 174

“It must be interpreted in the saying of Allah “And your lord will come” as his command will come

“ما لا بد من تأويله كقوله تعالى (وجاء ربك) الفجر: ٢٢، أي جاء أمره”

Imam Al Baghawi: “كتاب تفسير البغوي” Vol 8, Pg: 422

“(And you lord comes) Al Hassan said: His command and decree

“Except that Allah comes to them, that is His command or His punishment comes to them”

“(And your lord comes): Means his command

“وجاء ربك: أي أمره”

Sheikh Ul Islam Zakariyya Al Ansari: كتاب فتح الرحمن Vol 1 Pg: 611

“In Allahs saying (And your lord comes) means his command

“قوله تعالى: (وجاء ربك) أي أمره”

Imam Al Bayhaqi: كتاب الأسماء والصفات Vol 2, Pg: 370

The Almighty has no place, and as for coming and arvial. It does not mean that he moves about or displaces himself. As for movement, stillness, and stability are among the attributes of bodies, And Allah the Almighty is the One, The everlasting, There is nothing like Him.

So now we have quoted an abundance of righteous ulema saying that Allah’s coming is his command, are they all guilty of tahrif or is Ibn Uthaymeen wrong?
